David Elden Jackson

Services for David Elden Jackson, 83, Tonganoxie, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Kan. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Palco.Mr. Jackson died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at Providence Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.He was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Graham County, the son of David Edward and Viola Mae Bass Jackson.Mr. Jackson served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart. He retired as a machine operator and mechanic for Simmons Mattress Co. after 40 years of service. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5851 in Kansas City, Kan., and Bethel Presbyterian Church.He married Doris Fountain on Nov. 9, 1944, in Hill City. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Bruce and Craig, both of Tonganoxie; two daughters, Ruth Jackson, Tonganoxie, and Kathleen Trisler, Coffeyville; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church before the services.The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O.
