Services for Duane Loren "Sonny" Kraft, 86, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.Mr. Kraft died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.He was born Nov. 21, 1919, in Topeka, the son of Chris John and Rose Nuffer Kraft. He grew up and attended school in Stull. He graduated from Missouri Military Academy in Mexico, Mo., and attended Kansas University.Mr. Kraft served in the U.S. Army in Korea and the Philippines. He operated Kraft Furniture Store in Lawrence for 25 years.He was a member of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, Masonic Lodge No. 6 and Cosmopolitan Club.He married Laurel "Midge" Anderson on June 12, 1949, in St. Joseph, Mo. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Norman, Overland Park, and Roger, Sedona, Ariz.; a sister, Miriam Spray, Lawrence; and two grandchildren.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice Care or the American Diabetes Association Research Foundation, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
