Rose E. Long

Graveside services for Rose E. Long, 81, Eudora, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Eudora Cemetery.Mrs. Long died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at the Eudora Nursing Center.She was born Jan. 3, 1924 in Tiffin, Mo., the daughter of Homer Franklin and Fanny Harrison Godley. She lived in Eudora since 1952.She was a member of the Baptist church and several area women’s groups.Mrs. Long married Orville Henry Long on July 13, 1942, in Clinton, Mo. He died Dec. 3, 1998.Survivors include two sons, William H. “Bill” Long and Dale E. Long, Eudora; four sisters, Fannie Fenwick and Arvie Fenwick, both of Clinton, Mo., Mary Breshears, Hermitage, Mo., and Pat Schmidt, Pinckneyville, Ill.; three brothers, Clarence Godley, Lawton, Okla., John Godley, Kansas City, Mo., and Frank Godley, Independence, Mo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, and the family will greet them from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel.Family suggests memorials to the Eudora Nursing Center, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent to info@warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Long.
