Richard H. Wendland 1941 - 2005 Topeka
Services for Richard H. Wendland, 64, Topeka, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Congregational Church in Topeka. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka.Mr. Wendland died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at his home.He was born Dec. 10, 1941, in Topeka, the son of Richard and Hazel Wendland. He attended Highland Park High School and Washburn University.Mr. Wendland owned Sunflower Rental in Topeka and Lawrence for 48 years. He also owned Blue Springs Rental in Blue Springs, Mo., and General Tire and Ace Concrete Cutting, both in Topeka. He was previously a caddy at Shawnee County Country Club, where he was a member.He married Kay Wanamaker. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Richard M.; two daughters, Stacey Wendland, Lawrence, and Nicole Selvidge, Topeka; four sisters; and four grandchildren.Friends may call after noon Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka.The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice Care, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka 66606, or to the donor's choice.
