Services for Marie Purvis, 74, Topeka, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.Ms. Purvis died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at her home.She was born Oct. 16, 1931, in Lawrence, the daughter of Wilbur and Rosie Hartarfer Jeffries.Ms. Purvis worked as a bookkeeper for many years and retired from Food 4 Less.Survivors include four sons, Ronald, Robert and Gary Purvis, all of Topeka, and Cliff Purvis, Wichita; two daughters, Becky Purvis, Topeka, and Brenda Colon, Killeen, Texas; two brothers, Jim Jeffries, Overbrook, and Russell Jeffries, Wichita; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.A son, Roger Purvis, died in August 1980, and a grandson died in August 2005.The family suggests memorials to the Douglas or Shawnee County Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary.E-mail condolences may be sent to <a href="mailto:info@warrenmcelwain.com">info@warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Purvis.
