John J. Byczynski

Mass of Christian Burial for John J. Byczynski, 83, Bethlehem, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.Mr. Byczynski died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at St. Lukes Hospital in Bethlehem.He was born Nov. 24, 1921, in Baltimore, the son of John and Mary Kreger Byczynski.Mr. Byczynski served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946. He retired as assistant superintendent of the Philadelphia, Bethlehem and New England Railroad Co. on Jan. 31, 1982. He worked for Patapsco & Back Rivers Railroad in Baltimore for 17 years and for PB&NE for 14 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, M.O.R.A. Club and First Defenders.He married Ann Clare on Feb. 23, 1946. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Stuart, Virginia; three daughters, Christine Lipsky, Bethlehem, Joanne Emge, Fleetwood, and Lynn Byczynski-Nagengast, Lawrence, Kan.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Connell Funeral Home in Bethlehem.
