Ella Irvine Oskaloosa
Funeral services for Ella Irvine, 106, Oskaloosa, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. A private burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa.Mrs. Irvine died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at the Hickory Pointe Care Center in Oskaloosa.She was born Jan. 27, 1899, at East Atchison, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Lucetta Caroline Ames Jones. She lived in the Oskaloosa and Lawrence area since 1994, when she moved from Rushville, Mo.Mrs. Irvine was a cook for the Atchison Hotel and the Suzie Q Restaurant in Atchison for six years. She was also a caretaker in Atchison and Lawrence. She also operated the Irvine Restaurant with her husband in Oskaloosa.She married Eubert "Bert" Irvine on Jan. 31, 1916, in Topeka. He died Oct. 1, 1956.A son, Oliver Perry Irvine, and a daughter, Ethel Bernice Tripp, also died earlier.Survivors include a grandson, Larry G. Tripp, Lawrence; a granddaughter, Nancy Jo Peine, Show Low, Ariz.; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Family members suggest memorials to the American Diabetes Assn., sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
