Barbara Louise Vetter

Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara Louise Vetter, 53, Kansas City, Mo., will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo. Cremation is planned.Mrs. Vetter died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at her home, after a nine-month battle with cancer.She was born April 1, 1952, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Edward F. Sr., and Victorine Barland Vetter. She was raised in Topeka and attended high school in Highland, New York. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and education from Rockhurst College in 1974.Mrs. Vetter taught at Paseo High School. She worked as an Avon representative for many years and owned and operated her own micro computer consulting business. She worked as a Realtor at Prudential Kansas City Realty. She was an active member of the American Association of University Women and the National Association of Investment Clubs. She also organized a local mother-daughter investment club.She married Carl Weilert in 1977. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include her mother; a son, Samuel Weilert, Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Sara Gillette and Rachel Weilert, both of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Edward F. Vetter Jr.; three sisters, Jean Marie Vetter, Jo Ann Vetter Pollard, Lawrence, and Kay Vetter Bauer.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at McGilley State Line Chapel in Kansas City, Mo., where a rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. today.The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO 64145.
