Nancy Mae Bowen 1934 - 2005 McLouth
Services for Nancy Mae Bowen, 71, McLouth, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in McLouth. Private burial will follow in McLouth Cemetery. Mrs. Bowen died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at Brandon Woods Nursing Facility in Lawrence.She was born July 10, 1934, in Weston, Mo., the daughter of Edward L. and Mary L. Van Allen Gill. She moved from Kansas City, Kan., to McLouth in 1968.Mrs. Bowen worked for Hallmark Cards in Leavenworth for 15 years and retired in 1993. She was a member of First Baptist Church.She married George L. Bowen Sr. on March 7, 1951, in Harrisonville, Mo. He died in 1997.Survivors include three sons, George L. Bowen Jr. and Ronnie Dean Bowen, both of McLouth, and Benny Ray Bowen, Atchison; three daughters, Ann Marie Black, McLouth, Wanda Sue Jenkins, Leavenworth, and Lisa Kay Saim, Winchester; two brothers, Frank Gill, Nebraska, and Donald Gill, Stewartsville, Mo.; three sisters, Lorraine Lohman, Atchison, Minnie Woolsey, Troy, and Janice, Washington state; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Assn., sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa 66066.
