Francis M. Orzulak 1948 - 2005 Lawrence
Mass of Christian burial for Francis M. Orzulak, 57, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Mr. Orzulak died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.He was born May 20, 1948, in Pittsburgh, the son of Frank and Helen Donnelly Orzulak. He received a Bachelor of Science in English from Pennsylvania State, and a Master of Science in journalism and Ph.D. in higher education from Kansas University.Mr. Orzulak was a major in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1986 as a field artillery officer and was in the Special Forces during the Vietnam War. He was a program manager with KU Continuing Education.He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the Association of the U.S. Army.He married Marian Zaleski on Nov. 5, 1971, in Port Vue, Pa. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Francis M., Chicago, and John, Lawrence; two daughters, Christina Nelson, Olathe, and Michelle Schindler, Lawrence; a brother, Tom, Lawrence, and four granddaughters.The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, where a rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Thursday.The family suggests memorials to Midwest Organ Bank, sent in care of the mortuary.E-mail condolences may be sent to <a href="mailto:info@warrenmcelwain.com">info@warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Orzulak.
