Wayne Edward Corbin

Services for Wayne Edward Corbin, 68, Lecompton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Big Springs United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery in Big Springs.Mr. Corbin died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.He was born May 13, 1937, in Burlington, the son of Vernie “Pete” and Helen Corbin. He moved to the Topeka area in 1965 and to Lecompton in 1970.Mr. Corbin served in the Kansas National Guard for eight years and worked at Goodyear in Topeka for 33 years, retiring in 1998.He married Beverly Weide on Oct. 4, 1958, in Yates Center. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Jerry, Lecompton, and Steve, Topeka; two daughters, Becky Ewy, Neosho Rapids, and Cindy Johnston, Lecompton; two brothers, Norman, Topeka, and Jim, Gridley; and 13 grandchildren.Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Penwell Gabel Southeast Chapel in Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.The family suggests memorials to Big Springs United Methodist Church, 96 U.S. Highway 40, Lecompton 66050.Online condolences may be sent at www.penwellgabel.com.
