Hibbard E. Taul 1913 - 2005 Worden
Services for Hibbard E. Taul, 91, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Worden United Methodist Church. Graveside services will follow in Worden Cemetery.Mr. Taul died Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at Vintage Park Assisted Living in Baldwin.He was born Sept. 15, 1913, in Paradise, Mo., the son of Burton L. and Myrtle Hibbard Taul. He grew up and attended schools in the Paradise and Smithville, Mo., areas. He moved to Baldwin in 1932.Mr. Taul was a lifelong farmer and dairyman. He also ran a can milk route and worked on construction sites. He worked for a rural water district and the Kansas University Power Plant after he retired from farming. He later delivered mail at Vintage Park Assisted Living. He was an active member of Worden United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. He was also a member of Worden United Methodist Men, served on the Board of Trustees for Worden United Methodist Church and the Board of Directors for Mid-America Dairy Assn., and was involved with Farm Bureau for many years.He married Sarah Marie Oshel on July 27, 1937, in Olathe. She died Jan. 1, 2004.A son, Jon Dee, and a grandson also died earlier.Survivors include two sons, Robert S., St. George, Utah, and Roger D., Baldwin; two daughters, Linda Marie Russell and Sue Ann Brown, both of Baldwin; two brothers, Joe E. and C.T., both of Baldwin; two sisters, Julia Heinen and Letha Mae Gilliland, both of Lawrence; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin.The family suggests memorials to the church building fund, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
