Services for Bill R. Anderson, 85, Eudora, will be at 2 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary Eudora Chapel.Mr. Anderson died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, in Eudora.He was born July 14, 1920, in Howard, the son of James Raymond and Fern Forsyth Anderson. He graduated from Howard High School. He also lived in Ashland and Eudora.Mr. Anderson served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942 and was a liaison pilot with the 86th Division known as the Blackhawks. He served in Germany and the Philippines. He received his second lieutenant’s commission and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was a farmer and rancher and owned a water well service and Ashland Auto Supply Store.He married Elaine Hartsook in 1942. She died in 1991.Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Anderson Hughs, Eudora, and Marty Graves, Mount Vernon, Texas; three grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the donor’s choice, sent in care of the mortuary, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora 66025.
