Memorial services for Lucille “Mom Duncan” Allsup, 91, Edmond, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City. A family graveside service will precede the memorial at the church.Mrs. Allsup died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at her home.She was born Jan. 10, 1914, in Tecumseh, the daughter of James and Elsie Gowder.Mrs. Allsup operated a grocery store in Wye, Okla., for many years and worked in an oil field in Edmond. She also worked at G&W grocery in downtown Edmond. She was a hostess at Baptist Student Center at the University of Central Oklahoma and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Edmond, where she taught Sunday school in the children’s department. She also was an active member of First Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and was active in NARFE.She married William M. Duncan in 1929. He died in 1971. She married Dudley Allsup in 1974. He died in 1994.Survivors include a son, Ralph Duncan, Edmond; three daughters, Winona Marks, Lawrence, Kan., and Jacquita Duncan and Lunola Allsup Burns, both of Edmond; a sister, Christine Kahoe, Norman; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond.The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church Music Ministry or the Wickline United Methodist Church memorial fund, sent in care of the funeral home, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK 73003.
