Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Nadine Sommer, 87, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.Mrs. Sommer died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community in Lawrence.She was born April 19, 1918, in Saxcoxie, Mo., the daughter of William James and Una Mae Reeves Kelly. She graduated from Pierce City High School in Pierce City, Mo., in 1937. She lived in Carthage, Mo., and Eudora.Mrs. Sommer was a homemaker. She worked at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant and was a manager of Pine Crest Apartments. She was a member of the Jolly Dozen Card Club, Red Hat Society, Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Theresa’s Society.She married Edward Amos Reid on Nov. 29, 1939, in Carthage, Mo. He died Oct. 3, 1946. She married Lawrence V. “Dottie” Sommer on April 10, 1950, in Eudora. He died June 6, 1985.Survivors include a son, Edward Allen Reid, Lawrence; four daughters, Barbara Ann Reid Seiwald, Mary Kay Gregory, Angela Sue Lockhart and Janet Kelly Campbell, all of Eudora; two brothers, Bill Kelly, Eudora, and Joe Kelly, Lawrence; four sisters, Mildred Trefz and Mary Margaret Katzfey, both of Eudora, Frances Olmstead, Overland Park, and Agnes Borland, Farmerville, La.; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Eudora Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday and a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday.The family suggests memorials to the cemetery, sent in care of the mortuary, 1003 John L.
