Gale Dean Kahle

Services for Gale Dean Kahle, 56, Osage City, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Osage City. Private inurnment services will be in Osage City Cemetery at a later date.Mr. Kahle died Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, at his home as a result of an automobile accident in July.He was born Oct. 11, 1948, in Council Grove, the son of Marvin H. and Ruth L. Tally Kahle. He grew up in Big Springs. He graduated from Lecompton High School and received training in radio and television repair. He later received an associate’s degree in computer engineering from Kansas State University in 1986.Mr. Kahle served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked as a journeyman electrician through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 226 in Topeka. He was a member and instructor with the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee. He was a member of United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, IBEW Local 226, Instrumentation Systems and Automation Society. He was also a Boy Scouts of America leader.He married Donna M. White on July 12, 1975, in Topeka. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Todd M., Emporia, and Christopher D., Seattle; and three brothers, Gary L., Topeka, Richard, Lawrence, and Randall, Big Springs.Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Crable VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City, where the family will receive them from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday.The family suggests memorials to the Gale Kahle Memorial Scholarship Fund for the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, sent in care of the chapel, 107 North Sixth St., Osage City 66523.
