Baldwin – Services for Jodie A. Goering Eldridge, 56, Baldwin, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church of Baldwin. A memorial tribute will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, in Independence.Mrs. Eldridge died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City.She was born July 9, 1949, in Neodesha, the daughter of Al and Ada Goering. She graduated from Neodesha High School in 1967. She received a bachelor’s degree in music education from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia and a master’s degree in choral conducting from Kansas University.Mrs. Eldridge was a career music educator for more than 30 years and taught in Pratt, Independence and Baldwin. She was elected to serve as president of the Kansas Music Educators Assn. in 1989 and served for two years, becoming the first woman to complete a full term.She married Mark Eldridge. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include her parents, Neodesha; three brothers, Keith, Kent and Kevin Goering; a sister, Jan; and grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.The family suggests memorials to AWOL Humane Society, 116 S. 23rd, Independence 67301, the Lawrence Humane Society, 1805 E. 19th St., Lawrence 66044 or the church, 704 Eighth St., Baldwin 66006.
