Dorothy May Goff

Services for Dorothy May Goff, 91, Lone Star, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.Mrs. Goff died Sunday, July 31, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born May 3, 1914, in Clinton, the daughter of Charles Olin and Edna Grace Harrell Belles. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1933.Mrs. Goff and her husband farmed in the Lone Star area for many years. She was a member of Lone Star Church of the Brethren. She married Ralph M. Goff on June 1, 1935, in Olathe. He died Oct. 11, 1991.Survivors include four sons, Everett Goff, Overland Park, Gary Goff, Lebanon Mo., Roger Goff, Wabasha, Minn., and John Goff, Osawatomie; two brothers, Lynn Belles, Lincoln, Calif., and Howard Belles, Lawrence; a sister, Opal Dow, Benicia, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at www.rumsey-yost.com.
