Doris Jean Jameson

Services for Doris Jean Jameson, 79, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Eudora Cemetery.Mrs. Jameson died Friday, July 29, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born March 25, 1926, in Eudora, the daughter of Herman Christopher and Ethel Mae Vitt Bohnsack.She graduated from Eudora High School in 1944. She then worked at the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant in De Soto as a private secretary in the quality control office. She later worked for Southwestern Bell in Topeka as a long-distance operator.Mrs. Jameson was a past member of the Minerva Lodge in Eudora. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Eudora and the First United Methodist Church in Lawrence. She was a charter member of WSCS and attended the United Methodist Women Bible Study Circle for many years.She married Arch Jameson on Jan. 1, 1947. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Jay D. Jameson, Lawrence; two sisters, Delphine Weidensaul and Delta Raley, both of Lawrence; two grandchildren, Deneise Ousdahl and Jim Jameson, both of Lawrence; and three great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Jameson.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the service time at the funeral home.The family suggests memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.
