Norman Williams 1918 - 2005 Shelby County, Texas
Graveside services for Norman Williams, 86, San Augustine, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mount Herman Cemetery in Shelby County.Mr. Williams died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, in San Augustine.He was born Sept. 11, 1918, in Shelby County, the son of Eligan and Arleva McSwain Williams.Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Holly Farms and East Texas Poultry, where he worked as an electrician. He was a member of Hawthorne Missionary Baptist Church.His wife, Adena Williams, died earlier, and a daughter, Norma Lee Matzenbacher, died earlier.Survivors include two sons, Larry, Richmond, Texas, and Gary, Lufkin, Texas; three daughters, Carolyn McCauley, Melrose, Dana Judson, Lawrence, Kan., and Kerri Shofner, San Augustine; a brother, Charles Ray, San Augustine; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center, Texas.
