Vivian Glenna Moore Maruska 1940 - 2005
Services for Vivian Glenna "Pat" Moore Maruska, 64, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Second Christian Church in Lawrence. Cremation will follow.Ms. Maruska died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.She was born Oct. 6, 1940, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Charles Sr. and Josephine Gaines Walker. She lived most of her life in Lawrence and moved to Seattle in 1988. She later moved to Topeka in 2000. Ms. Maruska worked as a machinist at Stokley Van Camp for 10 years and in housekeeping at Kansas University for several years. She was a member of Lenexa Christian Center.She married Mike Maruska on Nov. 18, 1988, in Oklahoma City. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include her mother, Topeka; two sons, Bill Sims, Lawrence, and Michael Brown, Seattle; a daughter, Kimberly Brown, Seattle; a stepdaughter, Kama Maruska, Topeka; a brother, Charles Crowder, Topeka; a stepbrother, Lester Walker, Lawrence; two sisters, Marva Crump, San Bernardino, Calif., and Janie Hansard, Topeka; and five grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.The family suggests memorials to Lenexa Christian Center, sent in care of the mortuary.E-mail condolences may be sent to <a href="mailto:info@warrenmcelwain.com?subject=Moore">info@warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Moore.
