Mary Anne Durie Crain 1932 - 2005 Bartlesville
Bartlesville, Okla. - Services for Mary Anne Durie Crain, 72, Bartlesville, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at East Cross United Methodist Church in Bartlesville.Mrs. Crain died Monday, April 18, 2005, at her home.She was born May, 27, 1932, in Raton, N.M., the daughter of Ralph Cristie and Grace Pitts Durie. She graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., with a degree in teaching in 1953.Mrs. Crain taught fifth grade at Wesleyan Christian School in Bartlesville for 14 years and previously taught at Kennedy School in Lawrence, Kan., for 13 years. She was a past president of the Women's League of Voters and served on the Board of Mutual. She volunteered with Tuesday House, Concern, and Reach to Recovery Cancer Support Group in Lawrence. She was a member of East Cross United Methodist Church, where she was in the choir and was a past president of United Methodist Women.She married Ronald D. Crain on March 29, 1953, in Liberty, Mo. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Randy Crain, Olathe, Kan.; three daughters, Kerrin Kirkpatrick, Urbanna, Iowa, Cindy Myers, Parsons, Kan., and Dee Anne Roush, Joplin, Mo.; a brother, Robert Durie, Prairie Village, Kan.; a sister, Ruth Clouse, Norwalk, Conn.; and 16 grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to Wesleyan Christian School, 1776 S.E. Silver Lake Road, Bartlesville, OK 74006.
