Gary Lynn Dalton 1943 - 2005 Oskaloosa
Oskaloosa - Services for Gary Lynn Dalton, 61, rural McLouth, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Highland Cemetery in Iola.Mr. Dalton died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.He was born Oct. 29, 1943, in Gas City, the son of Tillis Martin and Neoma Keele Dalton. He attended school in Iola and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Emporia State Teachers College in 1967. He received a Master of Social Science degree from Kansas University in 1974.Mr. Dalton served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the building of the Berlin Wall. He was a social worker for the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services in Topeka and Pratt from 1980 to 1990. He retired in 2002 after working 35 years and worked for EKAN in Ottawa for two years. He also owned and operated a farm near Ozawkie.He married Judith Lynn Kenison on July 3, 1966, in Chanute. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include four sons, Chris, Elgin, Texas, Fred Scott, Lawrence, Clint, Denver, and Eric, San Diego; a brother, Jim Prentice, Lawrence; a sister, Marjorie Wade, Iola; and five grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home before the services.The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa 66066.
