Fred Ernest Schulmeyer

Funeral services for Fred Ernest Schulmeyer, 73, Leon, formerly of Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Private burial will be in the Vinland Cemetery.
He died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at his home in Leon.
He was born April 27, 1936, in Lawrence, the son of Ernest Philip and Louise Katherine Schulmeyer.
He was a farmer and was also a truck driver for Lawrence Ready Mix.
He was a member of the Eagles.
He married Shirley L. Higgins on May 18, 1968, in Oskaloosa. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Connie Thompson, of Higginsville, Mo., and Judy Faulkner, of Severy; one son, Johnny Schulmeyer, of Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Brown Jr.; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
The family will greet friends following the service at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family requests casual attire.
