Carol J. Hacker

Funeral services for Carol J. Hacker, 66, rural Lecompton, will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Fairlawn Cemetery in Hutchinson. Mrs. Hacker died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at her home.She was born Sept. 13, 1941, in Lawrence, the daughter of Eugene S. and Margaret “June” Gaines McMillin. She graduated from Lawrence High School, attended Kansas University and received an office education degree from the state of Kansas in 1982. Mrs. Hacker was a former business owner. She owned a transcription business and was also president of the SW Investment Company, doing business as The Pool Room. She attended First Christian Church in Lawrence and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Beta Sigma Phi sorority.She married Daniel Hacker on Sept. 28, 1991, in Lawrence. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Greydon Walker, Eudora, and Richard Walker III, Lawrence; a brother; Daniel McMillin, Topeka; and two grandchildren, Cassie and Megan Walker.The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence or Hutchinson Humane Societies, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent at www.warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Hacker.
