Services for Anthony J. “Clacc” Vital, 28, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Private inurnment will be at a later date in Eudora Cemetery.Mr. Vital died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, in rural Douglas County.He was born April 11, 1978, in Lake Charles, La., the son of John Sr. and Lemelda Matthews Vital. He moved from Lake Charles to Lawrence in 1996.Mr. Vital was a musician and a member of Da BombSquad hip hop group. He formerly worked in manufacturing production. He was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church in Lawrence.He married Kristie Laughlin on April 12, 2002, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include his father and stepmother, John Sr. and Ann Vital, Jennings, La; his mother, Lamelda Carrier, Lawrence; three brothers, Paul, Lawrence, John Jr., Sioux Falls, S.D., and Eddie, Lawrence; two sisters, Franchesca Young, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Tiffany Vital, Lawrence; three stepbrothers, Edgar Carrier Jr., Houston, Christopher Carrier, Houston, and Don Carrier, Fayetteville, N.C.; three stepsisters, Cynthia Carrier, Corpus Christi, Texas, Kandis Carrier, Houston, and Melody Schlensinger, Lake Charles, La.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.His stepfather, Edgar Carrier, died earlier.Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary, where the family will receive them from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. before the services.The family suggests memorials to Valley Hope in Atchison, sent in care of the mortuary.Online condolences may be sent at www.warrenmcelwain.com.
