Rance Neal Sr. 1925 - 2006
Services for Rance Neal Sr., 81, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.Mr. Neal died Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, at his home.He was born May 19, 1925, in Bourbon, Miss., the son of Noah and Mary A. McCoy Neal. He attended school in Bourbon and moved to Hollandale, Miss., in 1948. He moved to Lawrence in 1995.Mr. Neal was a farmer and retired in 1984.He married Elizabeth Jenkins in 1948. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include three sons, Rance L. Jr., Lawrence, Freddie, Minneapolis, and Charles, Canton, Ohio; five daughters, Rosie Mae Neal, Canton, Ohio, Frances and Joann Neal, both of Greenville, Miss., Peggy Neal, Hollandale, Miss., and Barbara Neal, St. Louis; two brothers; a sister; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.A daughter, Matilda Neal, died earlier.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com>www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
