Letter to the editor: Respect for authority
To the editor:
I thought it ironic that right next to George Will’s scathing comments on May 11 about Vice President Pence and his relationship to President Trump is an editorial viewpoint praising then-Lieutenant Governor Colyer about his loyalty to Governor Brownback.
I think that both men understand authority and submission but not to the contradiction of their own core beliefs which are a reflection of their religious faith and understanding of Biblical truth concerning authority and submission. They serve at the pleasure of the one in authority.
Another aspect of Will’s incorrect conclusions is the fact that he is so sure that he is right and Pence is wrong. I realize it’s George’s column, but it amazes me how his absolute dislike for President Trump and Vice President Pence can cause such a gifted man to be so sure he is right. Perhaps his sin is pride.
