Letter to the editor: Sunshine protection

To the editor:

OK, I have had it! The heavy hand of government again has stolen from me a valuable Sunday morning hour of sipping tea and reading the Journal-World and the New York Times. My sleep cycle has been disrupted needlessly and I even have been subjected to increased risk of heart attack and auto accident. Of course I am referring to daylight saving time.

Citizens, arise! We can change this. Call or write the Secretary of Loss of Sleep, or maybe your representatives in Congress. They are not likely to deal with immigration, the cost of health care, global warming, jobs, obscene disparity in wealth, gun violence, the crumbling infrastructure, etc; but maybe they would stop these assaults on our sleep and well-being. Let’s pass a national Sunshine Protection Act and quit all this springing and falling.
