Letter to the editor: Enough ranting
To the editor:
Tom Keegan of the Journal-World continues his onslaught against KU’s football coach. It is the worst of what pretends to be journalism. A journalist is supposed to set out the facts of the story and not try to make the story or be the story. Keegan has become little more than a person leading a cheer against the football program. I doubt he would look good in a cheerleader outfit, but neither does his writing on this issue. At one point Keegan seemed to be a decent writer. It has taken a nosedive recently. It seems as if he cannot write a story without bringing up a cheer against the football coach. I can only hope that the new AD looks at a bigger picture than just reading the rants of Keegan. Perhaps there are deeper problems at KU regarding football than the coach. Perhaps the new AD will possess the wisdom to look at those issues or the tireless cycle will just continue. Perhaps part of the problem is the attitude of people like Keegan. Wisdom would seem to direct Keegan to take off his cheerleading outfit long enough to get back to some semblance of journalism. There is a new AD in place and he does not need Keegan’s advice. Let him decide on the coach with the big picture in mind.
