Letter to the editor: Reject NRA money

To the editor:

I am back and angry as ever. I’m sure you can guess why. I tried to keep this letter short, but I guess I didn’t quite succeed. This is, once again, directed at my representatives (listed below). Before continuing, I ask that, if you choose to respond, you don’t send a cookie cutter letter trying to convince me to agree with you. Of the dozens of letters I’ve written you, the few responses I’ve gotten have been laughable. Send me something of substance or send me nothing at all, because I refuse to agree with you.

Your position on gun reform will be (and always has been) a deciding factor come Election Day. For myself, and for millions of Americans across the nation voting for their own representatives. We have had enough. These are my representatives, and I am disgusted by them:

Jerry Moran has received $23,850 in donations from the NRA; Pat Roberts has received $23,800; Lynn Jenkins has received $8,000 (according to the Washington Post).

I don’t care if others have received more. I don’t care about what good you think you’ve done. Every penny you accept from the NRA is another murder victim in our nation. Another child that never went home after school.

We are done with your crap, with your political jargon, with your support of MURDER WEAPONS. Because, in case you’d forgotten, the purpose of guns is to take the life of someone. They have no other purpose.

We are angry. We are mighty. We are many. We are fed up. And we want you to

stop

killing

America’s

children.
