Police release suspect photos in morning robbery of convenience store

Lawrence police are investigating an overnight armed robbery at a convenience store near downtown Lawrence.

The robbery was reported about 2:20 a.m. Tuesday at Kwik Shop, 845 Mississippi St., according to a Lawrence Police Department news release.

Two men entered the business brandishing guns, and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, the news release said. The suspects fled to the northeast, and responding officers weren’t able to find them, the news release said.

No one was hurt in the incident, according to the news release.

Lawrence police released surveillance photos of both suspects inside the convenience store during the incident.

Police said in the news release that both suspects were white males. In the photos, one appears to be medium build and wearing a black hat, bluish coat, blue or gray pants and black shoes. The other appears to be thin build and wearing a black T-shirt, tan shorts and black shoes. Both appear to have black bandannas covering their faces.

Police urge anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers of Lawrence and Douglas County at 843-TIPS (8477).
