Letter to the editor: Anthem kneeling
To the editor:
I will continue to stand with hand over heart. When in the army, I saluted. But I understand the purpose and feelings of those who kneel in a position of praying. I prefer to think they are praying that the nation will indeed see the time when we are all completely the “Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.” Can you recognize that some freedoms are not available to everyone? I think those who are kneeling are the brave ones among us. They demonstrate peacefully to bring our attention that some are not so free. O say can you see?
