Lawrence High's E'lease Stafford fires a three pointer against Shawnee Mission South Friday.

Lawrence High senior basketball standout E’lease Stafford announced her commitment to play college basketball at East Tennessee State on Monday through Twitter.

Stafford, a 5-foot-11 wing, was named the Sunflower League’s co-Player of the Year last season, averaging 13 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. She led the Lions to their first Class 6A state tournament appearance since 2008.

“(I) want to give a huge shoutout to my two godfathers and my mother,” Stafford wrote on Twitter. “Without you three, I wouldn’t be the young woman that I am today or wouldn’t have the opportunities that I have if it wasn’t for your love and sacrifices.”
