Letter to the editor: Let’s be honest

To the editor:

There are still people defending Trump’s actions. Still.

You know, it’s possible to be hopeful that he will do a good job, or turn things around. But to defend him no matter what and call all negative coverage fake is enabling and unrealistic. If you’re still in that place, then you’re not being honest with yourself, or perhaps you simply need more information than what you have.

If you keep defending Trump in his current state, people will be harmed. That’s not hyperbole. With his words in the Oval Office last week, people likely have been or will be killed in ISIS territory. Allies. His response, on Twitter no less, was that of a child, to justify his actions. This is buoyed by people unwilling to take a stand to his tantrums and grandiose thinking.

If you are a Trump supporter, a registered Republican, whatever, you above anyone should be expecting the most from him. He’s not delivering. Either help him get there or support someone to take his place that has a steady hand.

Ideology and politics can be discussed. But this is just dangerous chaos.
