Lawrence High junior E’lease Stafford and Bishop Seabury senior Mikey Wycoff earned first-team all-state honors from the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association on Monday.

Stafford, who was named the co-Sunflower League girls player of the year, was a first-team pick in 6A and Free State senior Madison Piper was named to the second team.

For the boys, Wycoff was one of the five first-team picks in 2A, while his junior teammate Zach McDermott earned second-team honors. Lawrence senior Jackson Mallory and Free State junior Garrett Luinstra were picked second-team all-state in 6A.

Among area players, Eudora senior Mitchell Ballock was a boys first-team selection in 4A-I and Baldwin junior Abby Ogle was chosen for the 4A-I girls second team.
