Letter to the editor: Middle-class governor?

To the editor:

Add another word to Gov. Sam Brownback’s defining characteristics (incompetence, hood-robbing, ostrichness): hypocrisy. Concern for the middle class compelled him to veto a tax bill designed to fix the state’s long-term financial posture? He, who halved the main middle-class tax deduction, mortgage interest? Who repeatedly raised taxes on “consumption” (sales taxes), which impacts the middle class more and poor folks the most?

Repealing the earned-income credit and rejecting Medicaid expansion reveals his utter disregard for the working poor of Kansas. Maybe he would have preferred the defunct Senate tax bill that would’ve had a higher rate for the reinstated third tax bracket and a lower rate for the middle bracket.

By the way, Governor, Charles and David Koch are not middle class.
