Letter to the editor: Laptop excuses
To the editor:
From a future Lawrence school district document titled “Monthly report of reasons for damaged or missing student laptops”: Dog ate some of it; left on the driveway and car backed over it; Grandmother sold it to someone in Topeka; fell on the patio when older brothers were playing keep-away with it; Mom’s ex-boyfriend drove with it to Alabama; the FBI is keeping it as evidence; forgotten on top of the car and it fell off on the turnpike; lent it to the pastor who is no longer in town; Dad took it to Dodge City to work on taxes; two bullies took it while student was walking home; accidentally shot by family gun; the dog peed on it.
