To the editor:

We would like to express our profound gratitude and appreciation for the tremendous outpouring of support from the Lawrence and Baldwin City communities following the loss of our parents, Steve and Alison Bauer. Alison and Steve loved being a part of this community and over the past few weeks, we have seen why. The love and support we have received from their friends and neighbors is a testament to the kindness and generosity of the people they held dear. We are truly humbled by the thoughtfulness of so many — the many dinners brought to the house, the kind letters and cards written, the prayers offered, the offers of assistance in any way. These all remind us of Steve’s and Alison’s impact on their community.

The loss of our parents will leave a huge hole in our hearts, but the love you have shown their children is helping to heal that. Thank you, friends in Baldwin City and Lawrence, for all of your support during this most difficult time.
