Letter to the editor: Money collection
To the editor:
Somebody should be held accountable for not collecting significant payments. If we, the taxpayers, did something wrong, we’d be penalized, but now that the city did it, it’s just sloppy bookkeeping. No wonder the budget can’t be met when people are not trained right, etc., and hundreds of thousands of dollars are uncollected. Who had the job of training them? Why weren’t they given the list of places to collect payments from? How long has this been happening? Putting this on the front page of the paper will NOT fix the problem. Who will fix it and when?
