Letter to the editor: Osawatomie problem

To the editor:

The next time state officials find themselves wondering why they’re having such a hard time finding people willing to work at Osawatomie State Hospital, they should read the (June 17) Journal-World story “Kansas attorney general seeks to settle two lawsuits involving rape, car search,” especially the part about the state having argued that a female OSH worker who was raped by a male patient wasn’t allowed to sue the state, and, instead, should have filed a standard worker’s compensation claim.

Most people, I suspect, wouldn’t want to work for an employer like that.
