Lions split matches at Washburn Rural quad

Lawrence High’s Brendan Connor and Cooper Wright won all of their matches in singles at the Washburn Rural quadrangular Wednesday, helping the LHS boys tennis team post an 0-0-3 record.

Connor was undefeated in three matches at No. 1 singles, and Wright followed with three wins at No. 2 singles.

The Lions will compete in the Lawrence City Series on Tuesday at LHS.

No. 1 doubles, Sam Allen/Kanak Maste lost to Gill/Latandeese, Seaman, 8-3; lost to Peter/Schmidt, Washburn Rural, 8-5; lost to Rice/Shima, Topeka West, 8-0.

No. 2 doubles, Cole Herrin/Kieran Spears lost to Shepard/McCann, Seaman, 8-0; lost to Struve/Ramirez, Washburn Rural, 8-0; lost to Gonzalez/Kuckles, Topeka West, 8-4.
