Letter to the editor: Another choice

To the editor:

In his June 13 letter, William Skepnek severely criticizes Trump and asks Republicans: “Can they choose their country over their party?” I supported Marco Rubio and am not happy that Trump is the Republican nominee.  However, the question posed by Mr. Skepnek  should also be asked of Democrats.

Regarding competency, foreign affairs have been a disaster under Clinton/Obama, e.g., Libya, Syria, Iraq, Russia, etc. More importantly, polls consistently find, with good reason, that 60 percent of Americans consider Clinton dishonest. The FBI investigation of her e-mails is just the latest example of Clinton’s dishonesty. After getting caught jeopardizing national security by having a private server in her home to conduct State Department business, Clinton repeatedly told numerous lies, e.g., “no classified material, “approved by State Department,” etc.

Recently, the State Department inspector general, in a report the Washington Post called “scathing,” rebutted Clinton’s lies. Remarkably, in what can only be called pathological, Clinton claimed the report vindicated her.  Despite the inspector general’s report, and the ongoing FBI investigation, Obama has enthusiastically endorsed Clinton. At least Obama has stopped the pretense that his Justice Department is free from political influence.

Clinton stated that, if elected, her husband will be in charge of the economy. Bill Clinton was found by a federal judge to have committed perjury and was disbarred by the U.S. Supreme Court. Do we really need two liars running our country? Mr. Skepnek, you also have a choice to make.
