KU Crime Blotter: Jan. 25 through Feb. 7

The following incidents were reported to the Kansas University Office of Public Safety between Monday, Jan. 25, and Sunday, Feb. 7. Incidents are listed by the dates they were reported.

Feb. 5

• Police found someone in possession of a controlled substance, marijuana and drug paraphernalia about 2:50 p.m. Feb. 5 in Jayhawker Towers, tower B. The suspect was arrested. (See related story here.)

• During a traffic stop, the passenger in a vehicle was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia about 11:30 p.m. Feb. 5 near JRP Hall. The person was arrested.

Feb. 3

• Someone took an “I-clicker” from a classroom sometime between Jan. 29 and Feb. 3 in Malott Hall. The stolen item was valued at $60.

Feb. 2

• Police serving a search warrant in a room about 11:45 p.m. Feb. 2 at Ellsworth Hall found residents in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a fake driver’s license. One minor was in possession of alcohol. Multiple suspects were arrested.

• Someone entered an office and stole $2,100 in cash about 2:40 p.m. Feb. 2 at Green Hall.

• Someone cut the cable lock and stole a bicycle from the bike rack Feb. 2 at Ellsworth Hall. Loss was estimated at $1,000 and damage at $20.

• Someone cut the cable lock and stole a bicycle from the bike rack between Jan. 29 and Jan. 31 at Oliver Hall. Loss was estimated at $500 and damage at $20.

Jan. 30

• During a traffic stop about 12:30 a.m. Jan. 30 by Haworth Hall, police found the driver of the vehicle — a minor — in possession of alcohol. The driver was arrested.

Jan. 29

• Someone stole parts for a guitar from Snow Hall sometime in late December. Loss was estimated at $500.

Jan. 28

• After an argument among several people, at least one of those involved physically struck another person about 1:30 a.m. Jan. 28 at GSP Hall. At least one person was arrested.

• Police stopped a vehicle after a stop sign violation and found the driver intoxicated and in possession of a fake driver’s license about 1:20 a.m. Jan. 28 on Jayhawk Boulevard. The driver was arrested.

Jan. 27

• Someone stole a wallet from a backpack at Wescoe Hall on Jan. 26. Loss was valued at $51.

Jan. 25

• An assault occurred about 11 a.m. Jan. 24 at Self Hall. Two roommates got into a physical altercation. A police report was filed the following evening.

• Someone stole a wallet containing cash, ID cards and a debit card in mid-December at Oswald Hall. The debit card was used on campus. Loss of the wallet and money spent with the debit card totaled $144.
