Overland Park ? A suburban Kansas City dinner theater has spent $40,000 cleaning up after a norovirus outbreak sickened more than 600 people.

The Kansas City Star reports that the New Theatre Restaurant in Overland Park brought in a commercial and residential disinfecting and mold remediation company on Friday. State, city and county health officials also have talked to staff about the gastrointestinal illness, oversaw the cleanup and observed food-safety practices.

Most of the people who were sickened attended the theater from Jan. 15 to Jan. 19. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment says it has not received any reports of people becoming ill who attended the theater after Jan. 27.

The theater holds about 625 people.
