Letter to the editor: Big Event, big help

To the editor:
I would like to compliment the Kansas University students that participated in KU’s day of service to the city of Lawrence called the “Big Event.” On Saturday, April 16, a group of 16 young men came to my house to begin a day of work as requested by the Oread Resident’s Association. They spent four hours picking up trash in the Oread Neighborhood, alleys, streets and sidewalks. Very nice, polite young men who made the neighborhood look amazingly better. What a wonderful program!
