Letter: Safety first

To the editor:

The school board set up a self-policing scheme for on-site safety for school building projects. Such arrangements are invitations to cut corners. As a result, a child was seriously injured.

The same lax system is still in place. Building work should be stopped until the school board has made arrangements for proper independent inspections. The money for these inspections must be found. The safety of our children should be the school board’s highest priority.
