Man guilty in January Lawrence shooting sentenced to more than five years in prison

A Kansas City, Kan., man convicted in a January shooting at a Lawrence home was sentenced to more than five years in prison on Friday.

Dashawn C. Clayborn, 23, pleaded no contest to attempted second-degree murder after shooting a man following a dispute over a piece of missing property. After the shooting, Clayborn fled. He was arrested the morning of Jan. 30 after stealing a car and leading Lawrence police on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash on Kansas Highway 10 near Eudora.
