Trinity Lutheran Church to hold blessing of the animals on Saturday
The public is invited to a “Blessing of the Animals” and animal advocacy event on Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1245 New Hampshire St.
Attendees may bring social pets or photographs of pets to be blessed by Pastor Brian Elster in honor of St. Francis Day. Representatives from several organizations, including the Kansas Humane Society, Douglas County Emergency Preparedness and Pawsh Wash, will be providing information and answering questions.
The Lawrence Humane Society will be accepting pet food donations or other items from the donation wish list that is available at lawrencehumane.org.
The event will be in the grassy area north of the church from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
