Letter: Ruled by greed?

To the editor:

More than once I heard him use that word. In speaking about income inequality, Sen. Bernie Sanders  explained the problem with a five-letter word: greed. Dare a politician use such language?

I recall, while watching the TV specials on the Roosevelts — Teddy, Franklin and Eleanor —  the point was made that their wealth gave them the opportunity to use that wealth and influence for the good of others.

Yes, greed is a natural temptation, one of the seven “deadly sins.” We don’t have to be controlled by greed. Let’s do better!
